Iniesta doubts Fabregas departure

The midfielder believes that Manchester United will not succeed in luring the Barcelona star from Camp Nou and praised the appointment of Gerardo Martino
Andres Iniesta has cast doubt on the chances of Cesc Fabregas choosing to leave Barcelona forManchester United.

The former Arsenal captain will be subject to a final offer of €41 million from the Red Devils this week in an attempt to lure the midfielder from Camp Nou back to the Premier League, though Iniesta cannot see his Barca and Spain team-mate departing.

"I can't see Cesc leaving," the 29-year-old told gathered media at a reforestation event in Juzcar.

"It's normal that great players attract the interest of other clubs. Barca are very lucky to have him and I hope we get to keep playing together."

Gerardo Martino was confirmed as the new coach of the Catalans on Tuesday and Iniesta has faith that Tito Vilanova's successor will thrive with the Blaugrana.

"If the club appointed him then I'm sure he's the ideal coach," he added. "The players are there for him to do what he says and to have another positive season."

"I spoke to Tito the other day to give him my encouragement, all my positive energy that he can use in these hard times."

Iniesta also dismissed fears that Lionel Messi and Neymar would not be able to play together, while predicting that former Barca boss Pep Guardiola will make European champions Bayern Munich even better.

"I do not think there will be any conflict [between Messi and Neymar]," he added. "Good players can always play together, good players will help each other be better so when Neymar arrives I think the team will keep winning titles in the end - that's what we want.

"Bayern are a great team and Guardiola will make them even stronger. I do not know if in the future we will have the opportunity to measure ourselves against Bayern but they and we are strong.

"We would see what happens, who gets better. I can only say that Bayern, with the arrival of Guardiola, will be even better."
