England welcome Moldova to Wembley on Friday with time running out to displace Montenegro at the top of Group H.Roy Hodgson’s side have a game in hand over their rivals and, if they are able to win each remaining game, they will find themselves on a plane to World Cup 2014 in Brazil next summer. England come into this match after playing a handful of friendlies. Hodgson’s men recently saw off a spirited Scotland side in a 3-2 thriller at Wembley, where debutant Rickie Lambert headed in the winner.
This followed up friendlies against Brazil and Republic of Ireland, with both ending in a draw. After England’s disappointing 1-1 draw away at Montenegro in March, Hodgson will be keen to get back to winning ways in the qualifying group.
