Roma captain Francesco Totti faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in his side's 2-0 Serie A win over Napoli on Friday

Roma captain Francesco Totti faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in his side's 2-0 Serie A win over Napoli on Friday.

Totti was forced off just 33 minutes into the contest and underwent a series of tests on Monday to determine the extent of the knock.

"Francesco Totti underwent tests this morning which identified an injury to his hamstring," a statement on the club's official website reads.

"He will be reassessed in 10 days.

"The captain has already begun his recovery program."

The 37-year-old attacker has been in fine form so far this season, scoring three and assisting another six goals in just eight appearances.
Roma will be out to maintain their perfect start to the campaign when they travel to Udinese on Sunday.
